I want my man to be big and strong. A fierce warrior who will protect me with his life. I want him to be brave and respected. Clever and cunning. To be intelligent and well read. Book smart and street smart. I want him to be kind and gentle, and generous with his affections. I want him to love me and treasure spending time with me. To not be afraid to tell me how deep his love goes. I want to know, through his actions as well as his words, how he feels about me, so he can't be afraid to smile, or gasp, or shiver, or cry or make other gestures that may show his true feelings.
Of course we all know that Jamie is those things and more. He is 'the king of men.' He loves Claire with every inch of his body, figuratively and literally. Aside from that 18th century 'obey everything I say' thing, he is the epitome of the perfect man.
And that's why men should watch Outlander. You want to know what women want? They want a Jamie. There you go. Watch and learn. I've seen dozens of posts already from women who said how much it meant to them simply because their mates watched the first episode with them. Picking up a mannerism or trait or gesture and sharing it could bring a whole new dimension to your relationship.
Oh, and then there's clever writing, humor, battles, great music, horses, swords, betrayal, floggings, and more than a little sex. You might watch for those reasons, also.
