What I love most is that he has brought Jamie to life so perfectly, as if he truly cared abut the rabid fans, and wanted them to see the Jamie that Diana created. He's not just doing a job. He seems to understand Jamie as Diana wrote him. The Jamie everyone fell in love with. The innocent virgin who became the King of Men. Most fans, true fans, appreciate that.
As time passes, there will be more direct, intrusive, often rude questions. I'm seeing it already, certain topics brought up again and again in various forums. Especially this past week with the bridal chamber scenes. Young fans and interviewers who haven't the maturity to realize not everything needs to be discussed nor shared. Of course, I am red blooded and breathing, so I do appreciate his physique as much as the next person. But I admire his acting ability so much more. Claire's face is the one you are supposed to be able to read everything on, but Sam lets us know what Jamie is thinking. He has a hundred different ways to smile. The way he draws his eyes together or tilts his head. Absolutely perfect.
Sam seems to be the kind of person I would want to sit down with, have a few drinks, and laugh with. To be friends with. It makes me sad to think of how things will change over the next few years, and he also, possibly. I hope that as the series continues and his fame grows, he remains the same kind, approachable, thoughtful man he is now. The world needs more like him.
