As with every other word of all 13+ books I devour the Wentworth portion of the Outlander saga. It's part of the story, a HUGE part of the story, it's important and it's beautifully written. And Ron Moore has done the near-impossible by staying true to Diana's vision. So I will watch and enjoy and appreciate what I know will be the performance of the year. PerformanceS because both actors have shown that they understand their characters and they deliver them to us brilliantly.
I do understand that some people can't stomach abuse, rape, molestation, sadism, etc. I'm not trying to diminish how awful it is. Believe me, I get it. I've been there, I'm a survivor. But that one brief moment in my life does not dictate the rest of my life. It's a story, a magnificently written story.
I won't avoid watching Episode 16. I won't stop watching altogether. I won't complain to STARZ. I won't cancel my subscription. I won't protest on Facebook and Twitter. (All of which I've seen.) From everything I've read and seen so far, the actors pouring their souls into these scenes and they deserve to be seen. Please watch and appreciate the incredible talent that has gone into the writing, performing, filming, and editing.
